Airline Regulatory and Antitrust Conference

CARS is delighted to invite you to take part in Airline Regulatory and Antitrust Conference, which will be held on 20 October 2017 at the Faculty of Management, University of Warsaw (Szturmowa Street 1/3, Warsaw), room B-205.

 

The aim of the conference is to discuss current problems and legal trends related to economic regulation and antitrust policy in international air transport. The debate is meant to reveal and reconcile distinct perspectives characteristic for different regions of the world. CARS has therefore invited renowned academic experts from most important aviation markets.

 

The registration for the conference is open until 30 September 2017.

Legalisation of stay in Poland – informational meetings for Students and PhD Students

Welcome Point would like to invite all international students and Phd Students to participate in informational meetings on legal issues concerning residence in Poland. The meeting will be led by a specialist Dr Łukasz Wieczorek, Dean’s Representative for Legalization of Stay, Faculty of Political Science and International Studies, University of Warsaw.

 

The meeting will take place stationary on 8th December 2022 (Polish) and 15th December 2022 (English), in the Main Campus of the UW.

2nd place in the Eduniversal ranking for the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw

The Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw was ranked second in the Eduniversal business school ranking. The deans voted for the best business schools in the world from among thousands of business schools in over 150 countries.

 

The 15th Eduniversal World Convention was hosted by the American University in Cairo from October 30 - November 2. The high position of our Faculty in the Eduniversal ranking is definitely a reason to be proud. One of the evaluation criteria was an innovative approach to the quality of education and focus on the future of science. This proves that the Faculty of Management shapes the latest trends in the field of higher education at an international level.

 

We are also glad that our friendly International Institute of Management (IMI-Kyiv) from Ukraine took part in the ranking. The first place was awarded ex aequo to two universities: the University of Economics and Business in Ljubljana and the Prague University of Economics and Business.

Finalists of the "Alumni Book of the 50th Anniversary of the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw"

On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Management, the Chapter of the Alumni Book Edition selected a group of outstanding graduates from all the applications, who were awarded in four categories.


In the category "Graduate of the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw - business", people who contributed to the promotion of entrepreneurial activities through the involvement, creation and development of their own companies were appreciated. Diplomas in this category were awarded to: Monika Żochowska and Ewa Dudzic - co-creators of the Phenicoptere company and the Glov brand, Łukasz Smoliński - the owner of the DESEO Patisserie & Chocolaterie company, Rafał Krawczuk - President of the Management Board of the Plej Sp. z o. o. and Łukasz Ostaszewski – the owner of Plej Sp. z o. o.


Graduates awarded in the manager category have achieved success in the area of ​​management, initiated the implementation of innovative solutions in their organization. The jury awarded the title of "Graduate of the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw in the category - manager": Adam Manikowski - Managing Director at Żabka Polska Sp. z o.o., prof. dr. hab. n. med. Piotr H. Skarżyński - Director for Science and Development at Instytut Narządów Zmysłów Sp. z o. o. and Member of the Management Board of Centrum Słuchu i Mowy Sp. z o.o., Annie Kowalczuk - Public and Governmennt Affairs Manager at Astra Zeneca and Dariusz Sokołowski - President of the Management Board at Spectra Development.

 

The titles "Graduate of the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw in the category of social commitment" for special achievements in the organization of characteristic activities for the benefit of society were won by: Ilona Łepkowska - screenwriter and film producer, President of the Management Board of the Polish Screenwriters Guild, Margo Koniuszewski - President of the Management Board of The Bridge Foundation, Tomasz Smokowski - sports journalist, co-founder of the Sport Channel, Krzysztof Pajączek - President of the Management Board of the Warsaw-Illinois Alumni Association Executive MBA and Executive MBA@UW "Nowy Świat".

 

In the category "Graduate of the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw - scientist" the graduates who obtained the title of professor were awarded for outstanding scientific achievements: prof. dr hab. Monika Kostera, prof. dr hab. Krzysztof Klincewicz, prof. dr hab. Beata Glinka, prof. dr hab. Przemyslaw Hensel.

 

Dean of the Faculty prof. dr hab. Grzegorz Karasiewicz presented the finalists of the "Book of Graduates of the 50th Anniversary of the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw" with commemorative diplomas during a gala at the Jubilee Conference, which took place on Saturday, November 19. at the Faculty of Management.

The Alumni Ball of the 50th Anniversary of the Faculty of Management

The Alumni Ball of the 50th Anniversary of the Faculty of Management, which took place on Saturday, November 19, was organized by the Foundation for the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw and the Warsaw-Illinois Executive MBA@UW and Executive MBA@UW Alumni Association. The event took place at the InterContinental Hotel, and its participants were graduates of the Faculty of Management, research and teaching staff and invited distinguished guests. It was an opportunity to renew and strengthen mutual relations. During the ball, special gift sets from our sponsors were presented: Bemondi, SPA for You, restauracji Focaccio, M&P PAVLINA Sp. z o.o. Jubilee Conference on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Management of the University of Warsaw

The Jubilee Conference, one of the main events of the Jubilee of the 50th anniversary of the Faculty of Management, was held on Saturday, November 19, in the hall of prof. dr. hab. Kazimierz Ryć. The main point of the conference was a discussion panel "Management Education 4.0".

 

During the Jubilee Conference, for their contribution to the development of our Faculty, the Dean of the Faculty, prof. dr. hab. Grzegorz Karasiewicz especially distinguished personalities: Marshal of the Voivodship Adam Struzik, prof. dr hab. Alojzy Z. Nowak, prof. dr hab. Andrzej Koźmiński, as well as prof. dr hab. Jan Turyna. His Magnificence Rector prof. dr hab. Alojzy Z. Nowak also expressed his thanks for the long-term contribution of distinguished teaching, research and administrative staff of the Faculty of Management. As one of the program items, the list of finalists of the "Alumni Book of the 50th Anniversary of the Faculty of Management at the University of Warsaw - Success Stories" was announced along with the awarding of commemorative diplomas.

 

The sweet point of the conference was a jubilee cake prepared by DESEO Patisserie & Chocolaterie.

EIT Food Seedbed 2022 Showcase Event in Warsaw - 18th November at 9 am – 5 pm

The EIT Food Seedbed Showcase Event, which will take place on November 18 (Friday) from 9am to 5pm at the Faculty of Management at 1/3 Szturmowa Street in room B 205, will present 40 startups from all over Europe. The teams will present what they have managed to do during the program. Startups will be assessed by three expert panels consisting of representatives of the agri-food industry from Poland and abroad.

 

The Seedbed Incubator is a market validation programme that trains and supports teams over a six-month period to help them better understand the needs of their customers and validate their business ideas. Seedbed is designed for entrepreneurial teams who are developing innovative technologies set to make a big impact on any part of the food sector, including the way we produce, deliver, consume, recycle and dispose of our food.

The University of Warsaw is offering an unpaid 40-hour intensive Polish language course.

The course is aimed at preparing international students for livinglearningworking and enjoying living in Poland.
